米ＣＤＣ、手の消毒剤を飲まないよう警告－死に至った事例を報告

米疾病対策センター（ＣＤＣ）は５日、米アリゾナ州とニューメキシコ州で５、６月でに中毒症例が多発し４人が死亡したことについて、メタノール含有の手の消毒剤を飲んだことに関係していたと報告した。トランプ米大統領は４月に新型コロナウイルスの治療で消毒剤の身体内部への注入の可能性に言及していた。

週間リポートでＣＤＣは、メタノール中毒の15症例を詳述。そのうち４人は依然入院中で、３人は退院はしたものの一生続く視覚障害を負ったという。完全に回復したのは４人だけだったと報告した。

ＣＤＣは「この調査は、メタノール含有のアルコールをベースとした手の消毒剤を摂取した場合、健康に深刻な悪影響を及ぼし、死に至るケースもあることを明示している」とし、アルコールをベースとした全ての手の消毒剤は手の消毒のためだけに使い、決して飲んだりしないよう呼び掛けた。
