BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Two rockets hit central Baghdad's fortified Green Zone on Monday, security and diplomatic sources said, with no immediate reports of casualties or damage. It is the second strike on the Green Zone since May. That attack, like Monday's, landed nea the US Embassy, located in the Green Zone.
The Green Zone houses foreign embassies and Iraqi government buildings. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blasts.
A number of similar rocket attacks this summer have hit bases in Iraq belonging to the Popular Mobilization Forces, the Iraqi militia partially aligned with Iran. The militia has blamed Israel for the attacks.
